You tell your parents that books are the truest adventures. You gesture at the stacks of books you’ve purchased on impulse over the years, the books you have accidentally on purpose stolen from friends, and the ones that they have given you for every birthday. You pull out one that is about a girl named Ayanna who has always wanted to be an adventurer. She lives in a world visited by mysterious blue doors that promise all sorts of desires but at great cost. Your parents call you a lazy ass and a bum! But you pick up the book and begin to read.
